This is me...

At certain times in my life, everything has come together. Growing up, other kids doodled stick figures and schoolhouses. I was drawing letters. It was subconscious then, but I was fascinated with the shapes of letters. It's more conscious now (though I'm still not sure if that's good or not).

A more abstract discovery has been the realization that I have been fascinated with pleasing people for as long as I've been alive. It takes a different form now, but that little something is becoming a big part of what I do. I call it designing with empathy.

Being able to understand people and their designs is something that now drives everything I do. There's not a single project where creativity is not bordered by some sort of constraints, and those constraints offer the context to being able to connect with people.

More than anything, I am a communicator. I care about the people I am designing for- both clients and end users. Communicating with them and being able to influence them to some sort of action is what robs me of sleep.

The reason I blog is to be a part of design community that is increasingly growing, both larger and smaller. My goal is to spark actual conversation that will lead to relationships and projects that otherwise would have never been started.
